The Society's membership now includes some 30 Missouri artists. Selected by their peers, these talented people are drawn together by their common love of the natural world... their drive to bring it to life on canvas or film, with wood, bronze, vinyl or pottery... and their desire to pass on an appreciation for wildlife and wildlife art to the public. Numbered among the members are many nationally known artists and state duck stamp and trout stamp winners whose works are included in private and corporate collections around the world.

The Society also works to increase public awareness and appreciation of wildlife art. To this end, the Society holds an annual conference open to the public, which travels throughout the state. This conference features presentations on everything from backyard bird watching and wildlife photography to wildlife art history and tips for collectors. Members often hold demonstrations of watercolor, acrylic, and oil painting, wood and bronze sculpture, and conduct sketch walks, which allow wildlife art amateurs and hobbyists to enjoy instruction and encouragement from the professionals.
