George Wright began woodcarving at the age of 63 in 1994, following a long career in the insurance business and six years as a taxidermist.

Drawing upon a lifetime of fishing, his taxidermist work (specializing in fish mounts), and relying on reference materials, George strives for as realistic and accurate a presentation of each piece as is possible.

His awards include "Best of Show: Fish Carving" at the "Treasures of Nature" wildlife art show sponsored by Ducks Unlimited.
